Well, here’s to wishing you all a happy Black Friday! What is that you ask? Black Friday is the Friday after US Thanksgiving and is considered the busiest shopping day of the year. Hopefully it is also the beginning of when retailers enter into the ‘black’ (e.g. making a profit).
It will be interesting to see the results this year for Black Friday and the holiday season in general. Given the economic downturn will people still be out shopping up a storm? I’ve noticed that retailers have offered even deeper discounts (and later shopping hours) to encourage people to spend, spend, spend but will it work? I imagine the crowds will be the same but people will be more selective in their shopping.
So, if you didn’t manage to get that new Wii for your daughter, MacBook Air or those Manolo’s for yourself, consider helping out this little guy on Black Friday and check out our store! It’s true, in these hard times it is better to run your company lean, effective and efficient so that you extend your runway (and get that Wii for the employees next year). Just trying to help you out in this global recession.
Update: CNN reports Black Friday sales were up!
