Recently I had the opportunity to chat with a Controller who uses a number of our products and she wanted to let me know how well they have worked. In particular, she closed the books for year end (including full working papers for the audit - many of which were Business Ready solutions) in nine business days. Wow! NINE days. Good on you! What surprised me was the importance she placed on the Month End Checklist. Yup, a $4.99 sheet of tasks.
What about the checklist was so integral to help you close the books?
Essentially this mundane list of tasks was a good communication tool to her staff accountants on who was doing what, reminded her of all the fine details (when she thought she was done but upon review realized she had missed a few items), was organized in a way that allowed the flow of tasks to compliment each other and generally kept the team efficient.
