Office 2007 compatibility

It seems a lot of my clients who are Microsoft Gold Certified ISV Partners got, and immediately embraced, Microsoft Office 2007 when it came out. However those of us who still have to pay list price weren’t that anxious to immediately go out and buy the product. As a result, file sharing became a problem. In order to help those of us who are still on older versions of Office (e.g. 2000, XP, 2003), Microsoft provided a Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel and PowerPoint 2007 which allows you to open, edit and save 2007 files using your existing Microsoft Office product.

Yes, this solution came out well over a year ago but it seems this question raises its head about every other month so I decided to share the link.

Of course there are many other office suite solutions, such as: OpenOffice, NeoOffice, iWork, Google Docs and Zoho to name a few. We have choices people. Just sayin’.
