see you in the new year!

Services & SupportAs I sit here looking out at a fresh blanket of snow I can’t help but marvel at our first year online.  Business Ready went live in December 2007 with a splash page, by mid-May 2008 we switched over to the site with static content and the blog went live in June with products & eStore added in July.

It’s crazy to think that without any marketing we’ve been visited by people from over 100 countries (I had to look up where Djibouti was!), answered over 80 questions (that all came from you), sold product to folks not only in North America (our main target) but also in Europe and beyond, and everyone loves ‘trying us out’ via the free downloads.

So, what were the top 5 blog entries?  Not the ones I expected but here goes:

how do I calculate diluted earnings per share? - once you see the math in the template it totally makes sense (which explains why this is our number one selling product).

how to calculate volatility for Black Scholes? - what can I say?  the only thing I learned in university that I actually use in the real world.

what is burn rate and how do you calculate it? - good one that every small company should know, especially during this recession.

reimbursable car mileage rate? - this one I just don’t get - we serve up in google higher than CRA and the IRS?!?!?

what is days sales outstanding (DSO)? - a classic metric that is coming back to life in small companies

I have to say I’ve really enjoyed interacting with you and get a kick out of the questions and comments you make.  What’s in store for 2009?

  • Better navigation of the site (thanks to all of you that provided feedback!);
  • New product suites (sales, marketing, and HR to name a few);
  • A ’starter pack’ for each of the suites that will point you in the right direction (vs. you having to pick and choose from the a la carte list);
  • Continuing to offer a rotation of free products so that you get to know us better.

So, we’re off now and will return January 6th but feel free to continue sending in comments/questions.

Cheers!
